Free Microchips at Homeward Pet Adoption Center

More runaway and lost pets end up in animal shelters over the 4th of July holiday than any other time of year. The  noise of fireworks can cause animals to become frightened and panic, and a panicked animal can run very long distances and become disoriented and lost. To help ensure the speedy return of missing pets in our area, is providing free pet microchipping Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. while supplies last.

While it’s best to leave pets securely in doors on the 4th of July, this isn’t always possible. In the  unwanted event a companion cat or dog goes missing, a microchip is one of the most effective ways to make sure they are safely and quickly returned to their owner, as it is becoming standard practice for animal shelters and animal control centers to scan incoming cats and dogs for microchips.

Located in Woodinville, Homeward Pet Adoption Center (Homeward Pet) is one of the largest no-kill, non-profit animal shelters in Western Washington. Homeward Pet cares for homeless animals from all over Washington state and beyond, whether surrendered by owners or transferred from other rescue organizations or shelters that euthanize. For over 22 years, staff, volunteers and supporters of Homeward Pet have given these animals a second chance through rescue, shelter, and adoption.
