New Woodinville Walgreens is Hiring

Applicants can apply online.

The new Walgreens store at the corner of NE Woodinville Duvall Road and Avondale Road NE in the Cottage Lake area of Woodinville put up a sign after the holidays that it is hiring.

The store was originally expected to open at the end of 2011, according to Robert Elfinger, spokesman for the company headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois.

"This store will have a drive-through window, but it is as yet undetermined if it will be a 24-hour pharmacy," Elfinger said in an interview last year, Walgreens has not yet responded to calls from Patch this week.

Walgreens expects to employ 20 to 30 people at the new store, Elfinger said last year. The new sign on the building directs applicants to apply online through Walgreens website.

The project was approved by King County back in 2004 when the church that owned the property sold to Walgreens and the plot was rezoned for commercial use, according to Scott Logel, senior management analyst with the King Department of Development and Environmental Services.

Still haven't heard from corporate, but the construction workers say the store is due to open in two weeks.
