About 4,500 people who attended the Bonnie Raitt/Mavis Staples concert at Sunday night will not receive refunds after

Opener Mavis Staples gave a full hour-long show and Bonnie Raitt played for just over an hour before a tree fell on a power line, cutting power to the area, according to Kristen Winn, communications manager for the winery.

"It is considered a full show," Winn said. "There will be no refunds."

The winery is offering a 30 percent discount on one item in their gift store (including bottles of wine) to those with ticket stubs from Sunday's show. Those with ticket stubs can also receive a complimentary wine tasting at Chateau Ste. Michelle.

"It's intended as a gesture," Winn said, adding that those at the winery realize the situation of the shortened show wasn't the best.

A statement was posted on the winery's website Monday afternoon:

"Like the thousands of excited concert-goers at the sold-out Mavis Staples and Bonnie Raitt show Sunday night, we were startled by the sudden black-out and disappointed when the show had to end abruptly just as Bonnie was closing it.

We learned later that winds caused a tree to fall across a primary power line, which led to an area-wide power outage! Last night's show was the first in the 29 years of the Chateau Ste. Michelle Summer Concert Series to suffer such an extraordinary event, and we sincerely thank our loyal concert-goers for their understanding. Bonnie and Mavis put on a wonderful show with great music nonetheless!"

A message from Bonnie Raitt's Facebook page Monday afternoon said:

"From BRHQ -- Hi everyone, thanks for hanging in there last night! We've got a message from Bonnie coming along in the next few hours."
