Pet of the Week: Laura

A polydactyl puss waiting at Homeward Pet for a new family to adopt her.

All of the staff and volunteers at think Laura is just the ‘purrfect kitty! She is a beautifully marked brown tabby who has adorable extra toes (polydactyl). These special felines are sometimes called Hemmingway cats after the many extra toed cats that Ernest Hemmingway had during his time in Key West. Laura loves to knead her blanket with those beautiful paws and can’t get enough petting from her humans.

She is living in the Douceur Cat Colony (named for the Douceur Family who generously sponsored the space in our new shelter) at Homeward Pet with 2 other cats and she gets along fine with them. She often acts very mellow but once in a while Laura gets a wild and crazy kitten look on her face and her ‘inner playful kitten’ appears! This sweet 2 year-old came from an overcrowded shelter in eastern WA and is such a catch.

Come meet Laura at Homeward Pet Adoption Center!  We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville. Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. See all our adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and puppies at www.homewardpet.org.
