Woodinville Quilt Inspired by Local Coloring Book
Helen Andersen McMahon's coloring book of Woodinville inspired the community's quilters to create a new work of art as a tribute to Woodinville.
Where does inspiration come from? For Woodinville quilters, it came from a tribute coloring book the town. The result is a quilt made by volunteers in the community as a gift to Woodinville.
“This quilt wasn’t done by a club, but by individual quilters who came forward when the call went out,” said .
Helen Andersen McMahon, now in her 90s, moved to Woodinville as a small child. Her love of her community and drawing moved her to create a children’s coloring book, The Greater Woodinville Coloring Book, it can be purchased through the Woodinville Heritage Society.
