Woodinville's All Fools' Day Parade Moves to Less Foolish Date

"After 34 years of this wonderful event and receiving many requests to move it to a more weather-friendly date, we're making a change," Woodinville Chamber of Commerce officials said.

After enduring another miserable, rainy, cold day for  officials with the Greater Woodinville Chamber of Commerce have changed the date of the annual event. They had this to say in an email to past participants recently:

After 34 years of this wonderful event and receiving many requests to move it to a more weather-friendly date, we're making a change and we sincerely hope you will continue to be a part of it.

Starting this year, the date of the parade will move to Saturday, Aug. 10, and instead of the All Fools' Day Parade, the name will likely change to the Woodinville Community Parade, according to Dave Witt, the Chamber's executive director.

It will also become part of an expanded day of events, to include the pancake breakfast at the Woodinville Fire and Rescue headquarters, a concert series and community festival celebrating the city's incorporation.

"It's going to be a big celebration," Witt said.

Officials said they've received nothing but good feedback about the date change. This year is also the city's 20th anniversary of incorporation.

Planning is under way and details of the event will be posted as they become available.
