Woodinville’s Willows Lodge Unafraid of Friday the 13th

2012 will see three Friday the 13th days and the luxury hotel is offering specials on each.

Historians are undecided on when or why Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day, probably an joining of existing superstitions that the number 13 is unlucky as are Fridays (Fridays unlucky? What about TGIF?). This year the dreaded-by-some day (friggatriskaidekaphobia, Frigga is the name of the Norse goddess for whom "Friday" is named and triskaidekaphobia meaning fear of the number thirteen) occurs in January (this Friday), April and July.

Rather than fear it, Willows Lodge is celebrating the triple days by offering special discounts and prizes to people who stay on Friday the 13th.

When guests book a reservation for Friday, Jan. 13April 13 or July 13, 2012, they will receive 15 percent off the best available rate and the opportunity to “Spin the Wheel” for a prize upon check-in. Prizes include: guest room upgrade, $25 credit at The Spa at Willows Lodge, bottle of Washington wine from Woodinville Wine Country, signature picture frame, and more. In addition, every guest who stays on Friday the 13th will be entered into a contest to win a free night's stay in the future. Rates for this Friday, January 13, 2012 start at $169. For additional information or to book a reservation, check the hotel’s website by clicking here.
