Northshore School District's Secondary Academy for Success Hands On at 21 Acres
Service Learning Day with SAS at 21 Acres.
Service learning days, such as the recent September event with students and teachers from the Northshore School District’s Secondary Academy for Success (SAS), make a social and environmental impact in our community.
Volunteer and service learning projects at to a high degree. By offering these educational and training opportunities and serving as a hub for sustainable farming and environmental stewardship, the bonds between students and the community are strengthened.
Students make the connection from community to classroom learning through weeding vegetable crops, mulching the orchard trees, hacking away at invasive blackberry vines and assisting with the winter cover-cropping.
Engaging individuals such as these SAS students in service, and inspiring a movement for change, is a priority for 21 Acres, making a true community with everyone working together discovering the power in making a difference.
