Himalayas- the name in itself is so majestic that it gets sometimes really overwhelming. Everything that is represented by these mountain ranges is difficult to encompass in single explanation.

Just like a mother knows

The faults and desires of her child.

Am I not the sinner,

You came on earth to salve?

Ganga has been believed to be washing away the sins of sinning humans since she incarnated on the face of earth after centuries of penance of Bhagirath. This is what millions of Indians believe and take a dip in the waters of this holy river. Originating from the Gangotri glacier located in Uttarakhand, the river has made even the trek to Gomukh a pious journey a pilgrim should take.

 Yamunotri

 The beauty of the Taj

 Is the fragment

 I knew

 Even when I didn’t see

 Her abode

 But Once here

I know what Yamuna call for

The beauty is a mix of pristine

 High above the ground!

Yamunotri is the second most popular pilgrimage in the Char Dham of Uttarakhand. Holy and clear in the place of its origination, the river is originated from highly inaccessible Champasar Glacier. On the foot of the glacier, the Yamnotri temple is located which is opened on Akshaya Tritiya and closes on the day of Diwali. Nearby located is the Surya Kund, the hot water spring. The Divya Shila near the kund is worshipped before the deity residing the temple. According to legends and mythologies, it is believed that Yamuna is the daughter of Surya (Sun God) and Sangya (Consciousness).

Both of these two holy places of the Hindu worship attract huge crowd in the duration they are opened. The faith is the greatest aspect of the Indian lives that can be seen abundantly in places like these. Then of course there is nature to soothe the senses tired of mundane worldly affairs. The tour and trekking that pilgrims take to Gangotri and Yamnotri is one of the many routes in India to feel connected with the divine or nature or both, just a matter of perspective!
