Manali- The Beautiful Hill Stations in Himachal Pradesh, India

Manali is one of the famous tourist destinations during the scorching summers of India as it is located at an altitude of 2050 meters above sea level and has awesome cooling weather in the season. Manali hill station is situated in the Himalayan range of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is also called as valley of Gods as it is surrounded by hanuman Tibba, 7 sister peak, Friendship peak, Patalsu peak, Ladakhi peak and Manali peak where numerous temples can be visited. Hidimba Devi Temple- Hidimba Devi Temple is located in the middle of forest called Dhanugiri Van Vihar and this wooden temple is dedicated to the Goddess, Hidimba Devi. It was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553 and the attraction part of this temple is wooden carving of animals, plants and local deities.

Manali Sanctuary-  Manali Sanctuary was first notified in the year 1954 and is home to Himalayan flora and fauna with animal species like Lion and snow leopard. The area of sanctuary is spread across 2km down town area.

Solang valley-The Solang valley offers picturesque scenes and all adventurous sports like Bungee jumping, trekking, skiing, horse riding and paragliding.

Excursion of Manali Hill Station

Rohtang Pass- Rohtang Pass is the nearest and most visited destination after Manali. The highest point of this site is 4,112m on the Manali-Keylong road which is just 51 km away from the hill station of Manali. The enthralling and overwhelming beauty of mountains from the cloud view is an unforgettable experience for all the visitors. 

Kothi- Kothi is just 10-12 km away from Manali and this is a place for nature lovers who want to witness glaciers and snow capped peaks with peaceful surroundings.

Beas Kund- The great sage Vyas performed “Tapasya” here during the time of Mahabharat and since then this place is considered as the holy place.  Beas Kund is the source of river Beas.

Climate of Manali

Manali is blessed with pleasant climate throughout the year due to snow clad mountains all around the area.  The maximum temperature of summer days is up to 30 Degree Celsius which falls down in the night considerably. Winters are quite chilling in this hill station which freezes everything around. The best time to visit this beautiful location is between May to October.

How To Reach Manali?

The Manali Hill Station is reachable through all modes of transport and the distance and time varies with the transportation and location.

By Air- Nearest airport is Bhuntar, 52 km from south of Manali. Taxes and buses are available to cover the 52 km distance.

By Rail-The closest narrow-gauge railhead is at Jogindernagar, 135 kms away from the hill station.

By road-Manali is well connected to all the major destinations of Himachal Pradesh and neighboring states with regular bus connectivity from Delhi, Shimla, Pathankot and other parts of North India.
