The soil synonymous with legend and gallantry is none other than the magical and beautiful state of Rajasthan. It is certainly a top most choice on most tourists’ lists. Having fascinated guests with its rich culture and traditions, architectural beauty, majestic appeals and wonderful attractions like forts and palaces, temples, heritage havelis and wildlife; majestic Rajasthan has earned a lot of respect over the last few years from millions of people. This is manifestly a notable land where guests can experience the remnants of yesteryear by visiting its forts, museums and historical places. It was originated by the Rathore Rajputs during 15th century when they decided to shift their capital to the secure setting of Jodhpur from close to Mandore. Now, run as a museum by the trust, which was established by Maharaja Gaj Singh II in 1972 and listed in 1974 with the government of Rajasthan. It has taken part in scores of international exhibitions where the rich culture and tradition of Marwar is beautifully presented. The trust organizes folk music and dance performances every year in association with Swar Suddha, a famous music group of Jodhpur. On the whole, one can experience the royalty of Rajasthan at every corner of the fort.

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

Erected by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, Hawa Mahal is located in the heart of Jaipur in the structure of the crown of Hindu deity, Krishna. Its five floors with a sum of 953 small windows hailed as jharokhas that are ornamented with great designs, which are enhancing the appearance of the mahal. The story has it that royal ladies would have a glance at daily life at the street through windows without being watched as they were prevented from making a public appearance. One can visit here any time of the year during 9:30am to 4:30pm.

Amber Fort, Jaipur

Lying 7 miles from Jaipur on Delhi-Jaipur highway, Amber fort is steeped in remarkable history and has a wonderful amalgamation of Rajput and Islamic structural design. Murals, mirror work, paintings are bestowing the interior walls a wealthy emergence.  If one is visiting Jaipur, Amber Fort shouldn’t be a miss on his/her list, which will represent the beautiful stories of assorted kings from bygone era. Since the fort is on the top of the hill, travelers can make it either on foot or by taking elephant ride. Sitting on the back of the elephant would be the best experience of Rajasthan holidays.

City Palace, Udaipur

City palace is one of the most noteworthy erections of the majestic Rajput rulers. Constructed in 1559 by Maharaja Udai Singh in flamboyant style, it is considered to be one of its kind in Rajasthan. The beautiful erection of city palace displays a concoction of Rajasthani and medieval European structure design. Being built atop the hill, it tender visitors an opportunity of having a glimpse at its marvelous surroundings that include Jag Mandir, Neemach Mata Temple and Lake Palace. One can also visit City Palace museum to be acquainted with the history of kings and queens of Mewar. He/she will certainly have a feel of the royal charm.

Jaisalmer fort/sonar quila, Jaisalmer

Got its name from its creator Rao Jaisal, Jaisalmer fort is standing on trikuta hill in the beautiful Jaisalmer city. It was constructed of yellow sandstone and its invigorating wall rises to an elevation of 30 feet. Dubbed as Sonar Quila or Golden Fort by the locals of this place, it is the most famous appeals of Jaisalmer visited by thousands of travelers from different parts of the world. The fort houses scores of attractions within the complex such as Royal palace, Laxminath Temple, numerous havelis and Jain Temples, which were built  during 12th and 15th century with intricate designs.
