Nutcracker Ballet FTW

My Nutcracker performance is coming up and I think about when I saw the pro version earlier this year.

Ah, Christmas. The time of family, good food, feeling awesome, and giving. Of course it’s also the time of Christmas specials, Christmas ads and sales that start before freaking Thanksgiving, trying to find presents for everyone you know, and getting fat on cookies and other junk food. Note to everyone: the holidays are the worst time to go on a diet. You can’t even say, “oh I just won’t eat tons of the sweets this year”. Well good luck to ya. It’s basically impossible to not eat sweets during the holidays.

But that’s not what I’m here to talk about.

That was a preview for later in the month. I don’t know when but a Christmas blog is coming, never fear. But this week’s blog does have something to do with Christmas. I’m going to be talking about… (wait for it) the Nutcracker. Yep, the Nutcracker, you know, that ballet about the little girl in Germany who gets a nutcracker toy from her weird (and honestly kinda creepy) godfather at the Christmas party her parents throw.

And even though she fights a huge rat that wears a crown and has little mice minions and her Nutcracker toy comes to life, she’s fine with it because under the creepy nutcracker head (and trust me, if you’ve ever been up close to the freaky mask used for the nutcracker prince, it’s really, really creepy. Just trust me on this one guys) is a very good-looking guy and the fall in love and stuff. So this is all fine cuz… well I don’t really know why but whatever guys. It’s a ballet so good enough for me.

This Saturday is my Nutcracker performance and I am so so so excited. It’s gonna be great. I love doing the Nutcracker. It’s so much fun and I love dancing. And this year was super special because this year, the Friday after Thanksgiving, I finally saw the PNB Nutcracker in Seattle with my mom!!!! It was so amazing and wonderful and just crazily good. My favorite dance was the jester dance and my second favorite was the doll dance. I’m so happy my mom took me to see it. It’s quite different from the one my dance studio puts on but yeah.  It was amazing and it was super awesome to share with my mom. She's so awesome. :)
