If you are comfortable around people who are ill, you may have a calling to become a hospice volunteer. Volunteers complete a free, three-day training and are given ongoing support by other members of the hospice team. Volunteers visit patients to offer companionship, life review, running errands for the family, light household help, or staying with patient so caregiver can have a break. Volunteers will choose their own assignment and will visit patients close to home. We ask for a one year commitment of no more than 4 hours per week.
