Backpacks for Kids Seeking Community's Help to Fill Over 1,025 Backpacks

Backpacks for Kids School Supply Donation Campaign Runs July 12 to August 2

Seeking community’s help to fill over 1,025 backpacks

Northshore School District's 14th annual Backpacks for Kids school supply donation campaign will run July 12 through August 2.  The school district, Woodinville Chamber Education Committee and the Northshore Kiwanis are coordinating a community-wide drive to benefit Northshore students whose families are unable to send their children to school with necessary school supplies.

Northshore School District is seeking our community’s assistance in securing the necessary school supply donations needed to fill over 1,025 backpacks, ensuring every Northshore student the opportunity to begin their school year ready to learn. Local businesses and churches have volunteered to be collection sites during the donation drive. Go to www.nsd.org/backpacks for a complete list of requested school supplies and donation collection sites.

Monetary donations, payable to “Backpacks for Kids,” can be sent to the Northshore School District Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell, WA 98021.

Additionally, Northshore is currently looking for volunteers to help assemble backpacks on Aug. 8. Student community service hours are available upon request. Contact Cecilia Shumate at 425.408.7670 or cshumate@nsd.org if you would like to help assemble backpacks on Aug. 8 or for program information.

Northshore School District families in need of backpack assistance should contact their school office manager or nurse.
