Construction: I-405 Restriping to Close Up to 3 Lanes Saturday Night

Possible nighttime delays this weekend on I-405 near Totem Lake

Crews restriping the highway will close up to three lanes of northbound I-405, between Kirkland and Bothell, from 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9, to 9 a.m. Sunday, March 10. We’ll also close a few nearby on-ramps to northbound I-405 and the northbound I-405 exit to SR 522. Weekend work closes carpool on-ramp from Bellevue Way to westbound I-90
You’ll find the Bellevue Way carpool on-ramp to westbound I-90 closed this weekend. Crews from Sound Transit will close the ramp from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 9, until 4 a.m. Monday, March 11. During the closure, Sound Transit will drill soil samples as part of the East Link Extension light rail project.

Waking up Cayuse Pass from its winter snooze
Early last week, maintenance crews revved up more than 26 tons of heavy duty machinery and began their annual quest to open Cayuse Pass on Mount Rainier by Memorial Day weekend. The clearing process is no simple task and can take up to as six weeks to make the trek up to SR 123 Cayuse Pass. Every year, we close Cayuse and Chinook passes due to high avalanche risk and hazardous conditions. Crews from the east side of the state will begin clearing SR 410 Chinook Pass in mid-April.
