Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 31

Wineries host pre-New Year's Eve parties and a church offers fireworks.

  2. Don't want to stay out until after midnight? Then celebrate with Alexandria Nicole Cellars and their "A New York New Year's Eve" at the . Event starts at 7:00 p.m. and goes through 10:00 p.m. Dance the evening away and enjoy a Champaign toast as the crystal ball drops in Times Square. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
  3. Looking for a celebration you can take the whole family to? Celebrate New Year's Eve at the . Bring fireworks for the end of the evening fireworks display. For children there will be an arts and crafts table. Nonalcoholic beverages will be provided along with noise makers and music for dancing.   4. Kids will return back to school in the Northshore School District on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. There will be no school on Monday, January 3, 2011 due to a Teacher Work Day.
