Homeward Pet's New Facility Grand Opening

A ribbon cutting, tours and free gift with newly adopted pets are part of the grand opening celebration.

is celebrating the shelter’s spacious new digs on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. The celebration will start with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Mayor Jeff. The celebration continues through the weekend, with tours during adoption hours Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20, from noon to 6 p.m. Everyone who adopts a dog or cat over the grand opening weekend will receive a pet "Starter Kit” including toys and treats courtesy of Pet Pros, to help the new family member settle comfortably into their new home.

More than twice the size of the previous shelter, the new building allows Homeward Pet to rescue, shelter and adopt more cats and dogs and expand their veterinary clinic to provide more low-cost spay, neuter and microchip services to the community. Because the building was designed and constructed just for Homeward Pet, the new facility allows them to provide the best possible care for homeless dogs and cats, and provide an improved adopter and volunteer experience.

Homeward Pet is a no-kill shelter, non-profit animal adoption center which cares for homeless animals from all over Washington State, whether surrendered by owners, transferred from other rescue organizations, or removed from shelters that euthanize. For more than 20 years, Homeward Pet has given these animals a second chance through rescue, shelter, and adoption. With the amazing efforts of 16 employees, 200 volunteers and the generous support of donors, Homeward Pet helps over 1,300 dogs and cats find new homes each year.
