Is your garden producing more than you can eat? Then ; there is a great need for fresh food at our local foods banks. Saturday, Sept. 24 is the last day is collecting just-picked produce for food bank programs.
Simply harvest and drop off home-grown fruits, veggies and herbs for the Redmond and Totem Lake centers. No need to pre-wash the food, just place in bags for delivery. You can also take donations directly to Hopelink centers. Visit their website for more information and directions, www.hope-link.org.
“The support of the community is essential in keeping Hopelink food banks stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables,” said Glen Miller, communications manager for Hopelink. “Due to a tough economic climate, we have few resources to help feed our hungry friends and neighbors. The help from Molbak’s and their customers becomes even more important; it’s these partnerships that make our community such a special place to live.”
