"Hug" Author Jez Alborough at KCLS Foundation Fundraiser

The popular author will speak at breakfast special event to raise money for the library system.

Jez Alborough, author and illustrator of over 45 books for children is the guest speaker at the King County Library System Foundation special event breakfast on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Bellevue.

In 2000 Jez created Hug - a powerful and touching book of only three words about a baby chimpanzee called Bobo who loses his Mom. Hug was raved about by Oprah Winfrey on her show when she chose it for her recommended reading list. Bobo went on to star in two more classics; Tall (which along with Hug won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Book Award) and Yes. The series has sold 1.76 million copies. 

The Books for Breakfast event will include breakfast at the Puget Sound Energy Auditorium, 355 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue followed by a book sale and signing by Alborough. Tickets are $75 for adults, $50 for ages 10 and younger and include the breakfast and a signed copy of Hug. Tickets are limited, to register go to www.kcls.org/booksforbreakfast.
