Patriotic Pups and Purrs Pet Adoption Event

Permanent homes mean liberty for shelter animals.

Pawsitive Alliance, a no-kill animal welfare group based in North Bend, is hosting "Patriotic Pups and Purrs," an animal adoption event featuring pets selected from 10 participating animal rescue organizations from across Washington. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 17, from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart in Issaquah

Last month, the Mutt Match & Cool Cats adoption event in Bellevue placed animals with 101 families. On Sunday, more than 100 dogs and puppies and 30 cats and kittens of all different sizes, ages and breeds will be onsite in Issaquah.

All animals are up to date on their shots and have been spayed or neutered, which is included in the adoption fee. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250 for dogs and puppies and $75 to $100 for cats and kittens.

Shelters have evaluated each dog's and cat’s behavior and temperament. Experienced staff, volunteers and trainers will be on hand to help match families with a new pet. Trainers will be available to answer questions. Adopted pets have a money-back guarantee and are welcome back at the shelter or rescue for any reason if they're not compatible with their new families.
