Pet of the Week: Buddy

Buddy is a sweet-natured dog who came to from the Yakima area where he was found as a stray. How he came to be homeless is a mystery, but what we do know is that he’ll make a great pet!

Still a youngster at only a year old, Buddy has many years of love and companionship to offer. He has limitless potential and will be a great companion for someone who is willing to take him through training classes, included in the adoption fee for all dog adoptions at Homeward Pet. They’re a great first step for owner and dog to take, and who better to start off with than Buddy? This handsome fellow is attentive and is willing to please. He follows instruction well, and he’s ready to impress.

Buddy weighs 55 lbs and sports an athletic build. He’s an active dog who would be an ideal companion for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and of course running! Buddy is ready to start happily tagging along to wherever his new owner wishes to take him. When he’s not out and about, he’d like to enjoy a good home that includes a securely fenced yard. 

Buddy likes meeting other dogs, all kinds of people, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. While he can be very active at times, he’s also a bit submissive in situations that feel overwhelming to him. Building confidence and trust will allow Buddy to be the best dog he can be. Until then, he’s looking for someone with a gentle hand and a kind voice to show him the way. Younger children might be a bit intimidating, so he’s best suited for responsible and respectful children who are over the age of 12 years old.
