Sleep Country Collects 11,000 Clothing Items for Foster Kids

Sleep Country thanks all the local communities that took part in the clothing drive.

Sleep Country has announced that they collected over 11,000 items of new clothing for the nearly 20,000 foster kids in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon during a recent clothing drive.

New clothing items were donated at all Sleep Country locations from June 4 through July 22, at a Spokane Indians game on July 18, and at a Kelly Clarkson concert on July 21 at Sleep Country Amphitheater. Donations were distributed among 18 foster care non-profit partners in the Northwest.

The donations given at your local store directly support foster children and their families in Woodinville through service by Bethany Christian Services, Community & Family Services Foundation, Intensive Children’s Services, Olive Crest, and Treehouse. The greater Seattle area contributed 5,705 items to this drive, nearly half of all donations collected in the three states.

Sleep Country says that for those who missed their chance to give back to local foster kids, they are still collecting new school supplies now through Sep. 9, 2012 for its . Donations can be dropped off at any store location or on Sunday, Aug. 26, at Wild Waves Theme Park, for half off admission to the park.
