The Woodinville Farmers Market Report

Good weather brings out the shoppers, last week some farmers sold out of the most popular vegetables.

 

Saturday is supposed to be warm and partly sunny, so if you may want to get to the Woodinville Farmers Market early to for the best choice of fresh vegetables, according to market president Michael Charlton.

“Last week Bautista Farm sold out of radishes and lettuce by 11:30, but had plenty of asparagus and apples. Ma Lor had a nice assortment of flowers and early leeks and onions but they too were running low by noon,” Charlton said.

Of course last weekend was Mother’s Day and the market was full of flowers for sale, “Our other flower vendors reported very brisk sales last week so I am sure there were plenty of well deserving Mom's placing these beautiful arrangements in waiting vases on Sunday,” said Charlton

Along with farm fresh produce, the market offers handmade jewelry, including the current trend of Scrabble tile charms.

And there will be plenty of vegetable starts from Moon Mountain, including yellow cherry tomatoes. “They also have a variety of lettuce starts eager to grow for your munching pleasure,” Charlton said.

The  is on 133rdAvenue NE, right beside City Hall. The farmers market is Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until October.
