Viewfinder: Woodinville's Equestrian Trails

Woodinville has many options for horseback riding.

The Woodinville area has a large equestrian community, as well as a multitude of facilities and trails that cater to them. Patch ventured to the Katheryn Taylor Equestrian Park and walked part of the Tolt Pipeline trail to meet a few horses and their riders. The park was first proposed by Katheryn in 1987, and in 2008 with the support of the King County Executive Hourse Council (KCEHC) the park was opened. It boasts an arena with sand footing, a 60-ft round pen, ample parking for trailers and access to the Tolt River Pipeline Trail as well as Trilogy Trails.

Other trails in the area that are open to equestrian use include the Redmond Watershed Trails, Redmond Ridge Trails, Trilogy Trails, Gold Creek Park, Sammamish River Trail, Redmond Powerline Trail and Ring Hill Forrest. The KCEHC website keeps up-to-date information posted on any trail closures or blockages, especially important this time of year. These trails are also open to those on foot and cyclists and all can enjoy the beautiful scenery found in our neck of the woods.
