Woodinville Patch Picks: Burgers

Despite one less burger shop in town, there are still plenty of places for burger lovers.

Let us all take a moment to lament the loss of .

OK, moment over.

Burger lovers do not panic. Just because Ruby's is now closed doesn't mean it's the end of burgers in Woodinville. There are lots of eateries in and around Woodinville that serve up burgers and fries. Now what constitutes a great burger is a subjective topic, one that Patch will steer clear of. However, an informal—and not at all scientific—survey on Patch’s Facebook page showed is the current favorite in town.

Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, 17705 140th Ave NE, a Hawaiian original, the Woodinville restaurant is the first on the mainland. Murals inside depict the tropical islands as well as Northwest landmarks. You gotta love a place that has Elvis, the Space Needle, and a ukulele-playing mermaid on its walls.

Rooney’s

This sports bar is new to the neighborhood. Opened in October 2010, Rooney’s, 17626 140th Avenue NE, has an intimate feel despite its large size. Plus, there are enough large screen TVs in the joint that you don’t have t decide on watching just one game, you can see them all.

The , as is it affectionately referred to locally, 12461 Northeast Woodinville Dr., has a reputation for its Saloon burger, a concoction of ham, bacon and a fried egg, with a side of french fries.

, NE 177th Place, live music, pool, and burgers; what more does a bar need?

If you’re looking for a more gentile burger experience, check out Purple, 14459 Woodinville Redmond Rd NE, in the heart of Woodinville’s tourist district. This gourmet take on an American classic includes herbed aïoli, smoked tomato jam, and house-made pickles.

Duvall Grill and Tap Room

Just over the hill from Woodinville, he tap room is in a connecting space next door to the restaurant, making the grill a fine family destination. Duvall Grill features local Northwest ingredients as much as possible. The hamburger buns are from Snohomish Bakery and the beef is from Painted Hills.

If what you’re looking for is a lot of burger choices, Red Robin, 18029 Garden Way NE, fits the bill. Lots of burgers to choose from and baskets of endless fries, it’s a popular choice for families.
