The National Weather Service Seattle issued a special weather statement this morning:

LOWLAND SNOW SHOWERS TODAY WITH ANOTHER INCH OF SNOW IN PARTS OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY AND NORTH KING COUNTY...

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS IN THE PUGET SOUND CONVERGENCE ZONE WILL PRODUCE LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS OF AN INCH OR SO TODAY IN THE LOWLANDS OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY AND NORTH KING COUNTY.

AT 4 AM THE CONVERGENCE ZONE EXTENDED FROM THE SOUTH END OF WHIDBEY ISLAND ACROSS THE EVERETT AREA TO THE TOWNS OF SNOHOMISH...MONROE AND DUVALL.

WEATHER OBSERVATIONS AND WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CAMERAS INDICATE THAT AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW HAS FALLEN ACROSS MUCH OF THIS REGION...MAINLY ALONG THE SIDES OF THE ROADS AND GRASSY SURFACES.

THE CONVERGENCE ZONE WILL LIKELY WEAKEN AND SHIFT SLOWLY SOUTHWARD TODAY...THEN FINALLY DISSIPATE THIS EVENING. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF INCH OR SO IS LIKELY.

PEOPLE IN THIS AREA SHOULD EXPECT SLIPPERY ROADS...REDUCED VISIBILITY DUE TO SNOW SHOWERS...SLOW TRAFFIC AND POSSIBLE DELAYS.
