If there is one arts festival to enjoy and attend this year, it is Bothell's LiveARTS Festival, on Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24, 2012 from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., according to the devoted organizers.
The arts festival is now in its 40th year and includes a juried art gallery and community quilt exhibition inside the beautiful state-of-the-art facility of Mobius Hall and 50 juried artisans’ booths outside on the combined campus of Cascadia Community College and University of Bothell, Washington.
The festival offers all of the amenities of larger art festivals with the charm that only Bothell can deliver. Both the event and parking are free, and this year there will be gourmet food trucks with "themed eating at affordable prices" in the food court area, according to Sandy Alto, Marketing Chair for the Bothell LiveARTS Festival.
“Our wine and beer garden features favorite Northwest beers and wines along with continuous live entertainment throughout the festival hours showcasing favorite Northwest bands and genres. There is something for the entire family including our KIDS CORNER that features the return of our popular chalk artist and we've added kite sock making this year.”
There will be a preview party on Friday June 22 from 5:30-8 p.m. that sets the tone for the event for the artists, allows a first glance for purchase of art inside the juried gallery show including artist category award winners and kick starts the fundraising for scholarship procurement Alto added.
Tickets to the Preview Party, which include two glasses of wine, appetizers and live music are $10 per person and can be purchased at online at: www.liveartsbothell.org under the tab "Preview Party", where there is also more information about the Bothell LiveARTS Festival.
This year's festival poster titled, "Heading For the Festival" by artist Lyla Jacobsen will be available for purchase at $1 throughout the festival, and at the Preview Party evening festivities, including previous years' poster images by various artist awardees.
