Duvall Sandblast Festival Call For Local Artists

The annual Sandblast Festival is coming up and a call is out for all area artists to submit an application for participation in the event. Applications must be in by July 5.

The annual Sandblast Festival held at McCormick Park on the Snoqualmie River in Duvall is looking for artists to demonstrate, display and sell their work at the arts fair held on a grassy knoll overlooking the river and sand sculpture area.

The mission of the festival is to celebrate the arts and introduce and promote local and regional artists and art organizations. This year’s Festival is Saturday and Sunday, July 23- 24. The festival features a professional and community sand sculpture event with live music, dance and performance, storytelling and a fine arts and crafts fair.

All applicants must complete an entry form, sign and date the agreement and submit photos/slides or other samples of their work and include the $35.00 application fee to be considered. All applications must be received by the July 5, 2011 deadline.

Applicants will be judged on the quality and originality of the work submitted, according to event organizers. Special consideration will be given to artists who indicate that they are willing to demonstrate their technique/medium at their booth during the festival.

All items sold at the festival must be hand made by the artist. No commercial or mass produced merchandise will be permitted. All artists are responsible for their own booth and display. Each artist will be assigned a 6x10 or 10x10 space depending on preference and availability. Electricity will be available on a very limited basis. Running water will be accessible.
