ART ATTACK: Teen Night Out at Seattle Art Museum

Check out a special Teen Night Out just for high school students where Theaster Gates: The Listening Room and Luminous: The Art of Asia come alive! The doors open at 7 pm, and the first performances start at 7 pm with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra in the galleries and at 7:30 pm with the Garfield Drum Line in the Brotman Forum. At 8:30 pm experience a Mak Fai Lion Dancers performance and 9 pm will present local hip-hop sensations, the Blue Scholars! All night long there will be tours by members of SAM’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and the Experience Music Project’s Youth Advisory Board, spoken word performances by Youth Speaks, a sketching tour with Gage Academy of Art, a table turning demonstration with Wapifasa, and loads of art-making activities such as silk screening, button making, temporary tattoos and henna with local teaching artists and organizations. Check out the galleries for free all night long!

  • 7-9 pm – Seattle Symphony Orchestra (in the galleries)
  • 7:30 pm – Garfield Drum Line
  • 8:30 pm – Mak Fai Lion Dancers
  • 9 pm – Blue Scholars
  • Various times – Teen Tours of the galleries by the SAM Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and other special guests
  • All Night – art making activities such as silk screening, button making, temporary tattoos, henna and more.

Teen Night Out is FREE for all high-school-aged students. Free admission to Theaster Gates: The Listening Room and Luminous: The Art of Asia

Open to all high-school-aged teens. Attendees much show state or high school ID.
