Chinese New Year Celebration with Otis Kenyon Wine

February 3rd, 5pm - 8pm & February 4th - 6th, 12pm - 5pm

Kung Hei Fat Choi - Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Otis Kenyon partners Jim and Sylvia Stanfill lived in Singapore for a number of years and fell in love with the customs, traditions and people form that part of the world.  To bring this new adventure with the winery full circle, we are throwing a Chinese New Year party!  Kicking the festival off on Thursday evening, the Woodinville Tasting Room will be open late, from 5:00 - 8:00pm and then all weekend long.  See decorations they acquired while living in Singapore and sample Lunar New Years treats with our Walla Walla wines!

Chinese New Year, Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.  Within China, and other countries with significant Chinese populations, customs and traditions concerning the celebrations vary widely.  People will pour out money to buy presents, decorations, cloth and food.  Every family thoroughly cleans their house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hope to make way for good incoming luck.  Windows and doors are decorated with red paper with themes of 'happiness', 'wealth' and 'longevity'.  The Chinese New Year is a way to reconcile, forget all grudges and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.  Please join us in binging in the Lunar New Year!
