  • Why Go: Join Bassetti’s Crooked Arbor Gardens this Saturday and learn how to make a unique one-of-a-kind wreath for the holiday season.  You will be able to work with natural tree and plant forms collected at Bassetti's and friends' gardens. The materials you’ll get to choose from include greens, pods, cones, dried flowers, winter berries, rosehips, moss twigs, and a plethora of garden goodies that will help make your wreath an unique decoration.

  • Why Go: Join Bellevue College for another installment of Science Saturdays.  Theses challenging 3-hour sessions are filled with “hands-on, minds-on” science, math, and engineering activities for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. Each session is run by a Bellevue College faculty member who has created an age-appropriate program designed to educate and inspire your child.

  • Why Go: The City of Bellevue will offer a free screening of a new film about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold.   • Why Go: Join Hopelink this Sunday in Kirkland as they hold their annual 5K Turkey Trot to raise money to help low-income families in east and north King County get through the challenging winter months. This year participants have the choice between a 5K run or a 5k walk from Marina Park to Carillon Point and back.
  • Pricing: Registration is $40. Turkey Trot proceeds help Hopelink provide emergency services for low-income families in our community during a time when they face added seasonal pressures - such as higher home heating costs and additional food needs.  Register now at www.kintera.org.

  • Why Go: Join the City of Redmond for their first four mile Poultry Predictor race this Saturday at the Mackey Creek shelter in Farrel McWhirter Park. The race is open to all levels of runners because finishing first is not the objective. Runners must guess their running time before the race begins and those that finish closest to those times are the winners. The five participants who finish the closest to their predicted times will each win a frozen turkey just in time for Thanksgiving.

  • Where/When: 2-3:30 p.m. on Sat, Nov. 19 at Cascade Plaza Assisted Living in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Cascade Plaza Assisted Living is holding a benefit concert to help raise awareness and donations for Hopelink's local foodbank. The concert will feature the wonderful musical group, Ancient Sounds, whose ethereal music will transport you to mystical places.

  • Why Go: Unwind with comedy this weekend by taking in an improv show at Second Story Repertory. The show on Friday evening is rated PG-13, whereas the next day's "Sinful Saturdays" performance will be for adults only. Whatever your preference, you'll be guaranteed a unique show that will incorporate audience suggestions into the action.
