Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work, outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

  • Where/When: 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the Apple Farm Village Shopping Center in Woodinville.
  • Why Go: Visit the Apple Farm Village Shopping Center for an evening of excellent wine, food, music and art.  Enjoy tasting the high quality wines produced by Cougar Crest Winery, Zerba Cellars and Otis Kenyon Wine in a festival atmosphere. Listen to the musicians performing in each of the three tasting rooms. View the works of professional visual artists.  Experience pairing specialty foods with the wines at each establishment.
  • Cost: $25 per person or free for wine club members.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the .
  • Why Go: Looking for some new tips or ideas for your home garden? Make it out to the Woodinville Library and pick up some gently used gardening books. Titles include garden design, plant selection and care, coffee table books, essays and readings, environmentally friendly gardening, and more.
  • Cost: Most prices are $1 per book for hardbacks and large paperbacks. Proceeds will benefit programs at Woodinville Library. 

  • Where/When: 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at in Bellevue.
  • Why Go: Join the wonderfully goofy Eric Ode for a night of music, stories, skits and puppets at the KidsQuest Children’s Museum. The winner of five Parents' Choice Awards, Eric Ode will have you singing along to the tunes of pirates, cowpokes, farm folks and more!
  • Cost: $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Save $2 by purchasing in advance.

  • Where/When: 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the .
  • Why Go: If you've ever wanted to learn to swing dance, this Saturday might be the best time to try it out. The dance starts with a free group lesson led by USA Dance from 7-8:15 p.m. After the free lesson, be prepared to dance the night away to all the Big Band favorites and the standards.
  • Pricing: $15 per person, payable at the door. Ages 18 and older.

  • Why Go: If you foresee a visit to the Bellevue Arts Museum anytime in your near future, you might as well make it happen this Friday--admission is free! On top of free admission to all the current exhibits at the museum, you'll also have the opportunity to sit in on special workshops and lectures throughout the day.   • Pricing: Free. 

  • Where/When: 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the .
  • Why Go: Visit the Kirkland Library for a very special performance by singer/songwriter Carrie Clark. Never heard of her? Check out this YouTube clip of Carrie doing what she does best.
  • Cost: Free. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Library of Kirkland

 

  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the . 
  • Why Go: Come out to the KPC as Italy's three most successful solo guitarists unite to create a concert experience like no other. Pino Forastiere, Stefano Barone and Sergio Altamura will be slamming, banging and plucking their instruments in ways you couldn’t imagine. Here’s a sneak peak of what you’re in for. Enjoy the show!
  • Cost: $30-$35.

  • Where/When: 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, at the
  • Why Go: Celebrate Back History month with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra at the KPC as they present “Benny Carter's Peaceful Warrior: A Tribute to Martin Luther King.”
  • Cost: $39 for adults, $34 for seniors and $15 for youths.

  • Where/When: 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Finn Hill Winery in Woodinville.
  • Why Go: Finn Hill Winery has teamed up with Intrigue Chocolates to pair special flavors of their chocolate truffles with Finn Hill red wines. Come and enjoy these unique pairings that you won’t find anywhere else.
  • Cost: Tasting fee is $5 per person, refundable with any purchase. A limited supply of Intrigue Chocolate truffle bars will be available for purchase.

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at .
  • Why Go: Redmond High School Theatre Arts invites the community to the opening weekend of their newest production, Little Shop of Horrors. The play tells the comedic story of a man-eating plant named Audrey and her keeper, Seymour. The play features the lyrics of Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. Enjoy the show!
  • Cost: Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children. 

  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m on Friday, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at ’s Fulton Performing Arts Center.
  • Why Go: Join The Overlake School as they present the All-School Musical 2012, Children of Eden. The play is loosely based on the first nine chapters of Genesis. It tells a story, as old as mankind, about human nature, love, families and the relationship between parents and children.
  • Cost: $8 for adults and $5 for children, students and seniors. 

  • Where/When: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Walk the trails of the Preserve, help with a forest restoration project, and learn more about the natural history of the Preserve. Meet at the parking lot on the south side of the park off Novelty Hill Road. Remember to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

  • Where/When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Looking for new and exciting beer? Stop by Malt & Vine for its weekly Beer Tasting event. There won’t be a brewery visiting this week, but Malt & Vine has promised to make the tasting a fun and unique experience. Give them a call on Friday to see what they have planned. Mr. Gaulke’s experience and recount of his conversation with one of our reps comes as a surprise to us. We are checking our records to find out what the possible miscommunication could have been. In the meantime, let us be clear: We are not decreasing speeds in Woodinvile, or any of our markets for that matter.
