Woodinville's Call For Artists For Earth Day

Sammamish Valley Arts Center is accepting art work for a judged show on Earth Day

The Art Show is held every year around the time of the globally celebrated Earth Day. The next Earth Day falls on Friday April 22, 2011. The purpose of Earth Day is to recognize the power of millions of individual actions to better the environment, reducing carbon emissions and to act and live more sustainably. This year the Art Exhibit will be at Gallery 113 in Apple Farm Village from April 9 to April 25.

The Art Show will includes juried artwork from professionalartists and an opportunity for students artists (elementary grades through high school) to exhibit their art, participate in an art contest and learn about their environment and earth day. The artworks are judged and Certificates of Award are issued to the top artists in all categories. The top winning artwork in the contest in the under 18 category is placed on a poster to publicize the Earth Day Art Show, and the winning artwork in the adult category will be used on a poster or brochure to publicize SVAC exhibits or events as determined to be appropriate for the artwork. For more information or to receive an Earth Day Art Show Entry Form visit www.sammamishvalleyartscenter.org or call 206-335-6727. Artwork entries must be received by April 7.
