Finding Balance in LIfe

Everyone has a different reason for coming to yoga.

Everyone has a different reason for coming to yoga. You may be looking to become stronger and more flexible. You might be seeking time for yourself. Or perhaps you crave a sense of balance. Whatever your reasons, welcome! As you build a consistent yoga practice, the physical benefits you develop couple with daily introspection to create a strong foundation. Having this foundation to grow from enables you to maintain balance, no matter how crazy your schedule.

Just imagine balance as a trapeze artist soaring through the air, accomplishing amazing feats gracefully. With multiple responsibilities demanding our attention, our reality might be similar (though maybe a pinch less graceful). We feel our wheels spinning, falling through the air while grasping for control. How do we go from frazzled to effortless? How do we welcome Balance into our lives?

Consistent, disciplined practice. How does the trapeze artist become graceful?  They practice. Everyday. Over time, they craft a rock hard foundation of strength and awareness allowing them to maintain balance when seemingly out of control. The key is to be honest with yourself about what you can accomplish right now. Just because someone floats effortlessly into a headstand, doesn’t mean you should. And it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. With a strong foundation, you’ll know when it is time to try.

Build core strength to handle twists and turns. Cultivate an awareness of your inner voice and outer surroundings to recognize when you veer off course. Most importantly, develop a consistent practice that creates a strong foundation and allows you to grow. So, welcome balance.
