Chateau Ste. Michelle Wins Puget Sound Business Journal “Battle of the Brands” Poll

The Woodinville winery beat Starbucks and Microsoft in the poll.

Washington’s founding winery, was voted the most respected brand in Washington state in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s first Battle of the Brands poll.

Seattle branding and PR firm GreenRubino and the Puget Sound Business Journal asked readers to vote on the most respected company in various industry categories. The winners of that poll were staged to compete in an online voting bracket tournament which began on July 29. In addition to Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington organizations like Starbucks, Microsoft, Nordstrom and law firm Perkins Coie competed in the poll.

More than 20,000 people voted in the final round with Chateau Ste. Michelle earning 60 percent of the vote. During the four week tournament, nearly 60,000 votes were cast online.

"We are honored to be included among the leading brands in the state and we appreciate that so many fans took the time to cast their vote for Chateau Ste. Michelle," said Jan Barnes, Vice President of Marketing.

Founded in 1934, Chateau Ste. Michelle pioneered vinifera grape growing in Washington state and has been producing classic European varietal wines under the Ste. Michelle label since 1967.

In addition to its Woodinville facility, the winery owns 3,500 acres of vineyards in the Columbia Valley of eastern Washington, including Canoe Ridge Estate and Cold Creek. Chateau Ste. Michelle enjoys winemaking partnerships with two of the world’s most distinguished vintners. Col Solare is an alliance with Tuscany’s Piero Antinori and Eroica Riesling is a partnership with the Mosel’s Ernst Loosen.
