Classic Nursery Moving to Woodinville, Taking Over Olympic Nursery

Tom Quigley is retiring from the retail nursery business and Classic Nursery is moving from Redmond to the Olympic Nursery property.

 

in Woodinville, is leaving the retail side of the nursery trade and starting a new business as an independent arborist. Classic Nursery and Landscape Company will move from its Redmond location on Avondale Road and establish its business on the old Olympic site starting Feb. 1.

Classic will occupy 10 acres of what is locally referred to as the Sammamish Valley Farm, 70 acres of land that includes the operated by the Sammamish Valley Grange. Quigley will continue to manage the farm, a role he’s had since 1990.

The new Classic Nursery will include a garden center and a gift and antiques store, and will continue offering its award-winning landscape services.

Quigley, a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture, said he will focus on being a “tree guy,” providing consultations for tree and plant appraisal as well as tree risk assessments. He will also continue his role in preserving the Sammamish Valley for agriculture. He is the current chair and co-founder of the Sammamish Valley Alliance, a local non-profit working for local farms and farmers through education and farm events.
