UPDATE: Do You Plan to Nurse Your Baby in Target Today?

To protest some retailers, including Target, for asking women to stop breastfeeding their babies in the stores, women across the nation are staging a Nurse-in today at Target stores across the nation. Will Woodinville's Target be one of them?

No Nurser-in supporters were at the Woodinville Target Wednesday morning for the national event supporting a mothers who nurser their babies in public.

A nurse-in was scheduled across the country for 10 a.m. today organized by a woman who was asked to move to a dressing room in a Target store in Texas during the holiday season a few years ago because she was discreetly breast feeding her baby in a more public part of the store.

According to Time.com, Wednesday, Dec. 28, is the day for this year’s Nurse-in Target event. “…Wednesday’s planned demonstrations appear to be the most comprehensive to date, with more than 100 nurse-ins scheduled at 10 a.m. local time in at least 35 states. Michelle Hickman, the Houston-area mom at the epicenter of the protest, will be re-visiting the Webster, Texas, store where she says she was hassled last month for breast-feeding her 5-month-old son, Noah, on the floor near the blue jeans display in the women’s department,” wrote Bonnie Rochman.

But things were very quiet at the Target store in Woodinville, not only were there no mothers nursing publicly, there were few customers of any sort. One employee said it was great, the first slow day in awhile.
