Fork Dork: Restaurant Roundup - Mercato Stellina On the Horizon and More

Mercato Stellina, an Italian deli and grocery store, will open in Old Bellevue in September. Also, news from Cypress in the Westin Bellevue, Wild Ginger and more.

Trevor Greenwood and Wade Moller, who opened Cantinetta in Old Bellevue last fall, will expand their Italian culinary empire a few storefronts west. Greenwood and Moller will be opening a decidedly more casual Italian grocery and deli, Mercato Stellina, as early as late September at 10000 Main Street, in the street-level retail space below One Main Street Condominiums.

Stellina, Italian for little star, will sell fresh pastas made daily at Cantinetta as well as dried pasta, cured meats from Salumi in Pioneer Square, imported cured meats, beer, wine, balsamic vinegars, olive oils and dairy for retail sale. The deli will be opened for lunch seven days a week and feature Panini, a daily pasta selection, salads, charcuterie and cheese selections. The 750-square-foot retail and deli space will seat about 20 guests, including an outdoor patio.

“The customers have been really good to us in Bellevue,” Greenwood said. “I can see us growing the company over here. I am excited we made the move.”
