Free Pancakes at McLendon Hardware on Saturday

The local hardware store's annual customer appreciation event.

You gotta love a hardware store that says thank you with free pancakes.

Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 30, anyone visiting McLendon Hardware in Woodinville can get a free breakfast. Pancakes, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee will served up by caterers at the back of the store, according to store manager Roy Dean.

“The McLendon family believes in being as much of a part of the local community as possible. This is one way we’re doing it,” he said.

The annual free breakfast has been going on for as long as anyone could remember and is a big draw from community. Dean, who’s only been at the store since the first of the year, said he’s both excited and nervous.

“You’ll be able find me easily, I’ll be the one in the blue shirt with fear in his eyes just trying not to get run over.”
