Free Plant Seminars at Molbak's Saturday

Summer color and drought tolerant plants are the subjects of two seminars at the Woodinville nursery.

Despite the rain we've been having that seems reminicient of winter rather than the sunny days ahead, this is a great time to be planning for the summer garden. has two seminars Saturday, June 9 to help create stunning visuals in the garden and save water.

Nicholas Staddon, Director of New Plant Introductions for Monrovia Growers, one of the premier commercial nurseries in the West will speak from 10 -11 a.m. Staddon will talk about how to choose plants that do double-duty and add brilliant color to the outdoor room, and then whose branches, flowers and berries can be brought indoors. He will also talk about plants that are perfect pollinators; plants to enhance the edible garden; and plants that are beautiful repeat-bloomers.

At noon, Peggy Campbell will talk about switching to growing sun-loving plants that tough it out with little water. Learn how to choose the right plants and give them a good start.
