On Friday, Patch delivered the new iPad 2 to Gig Harbor resident Alisa Worley, who credited her 5-year-old son, Mayson, with the exciting news.

Worley said she and her family were strolling though the Puyallup Fair when Mayson spotted the prize wheel at the Patch booth, which gave visitors a chance to spin for some Patch goodies after signing up for a free email newsletter.

"We won a pen, but he wanted a water bottle," she said. "But (the iPad 2) is a lot better."

Worley said she'll use her new gadget to upload movies and games for Mayson. "And I'll use it for Facebook," she said.

Worley, who grew up in Gig Harbor, moved back from Yelm four months ago. She said she plans to use Patch to explore local family-friendly activities and restaurants.

"I was excited to just sign up for a Patch newsletter because we've never heard of it," she said.

Mayson, who got to place the entry slip in the box, said he knew his mom was going to win.

Feeling lucky after the win, Worley asked her son: "Will you win us a trip to Disneyland next?"

Mayson's answer?

"YES!"
