Readers' Choice Top Preschool Center Winner: Woodinville Montessori

Voting ran from Monday at 6 a.m. until Friday at 9 a.m.

And the winner of the Woodinville Patch "Readers' Choice" Top Preschool in town is…!

In a field of eight competitors Woodinville Montessori captured 70 percent of the 27 votes cast this week.

Woodinville Montessori is a nonprofit school founded in 1983 and is accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS) and is approved by the State of Washington as a private school.

It has two locations, the Woodinville school at 13965 NE 166th Street, is the early childhood education campus. The school’s Bothell campus at 19102 North Creek Parkway has two early childhood classrooms and houses the school's program for children 18-months to 15-years-old.

"Maria Montessori observed that early childhood is a critical time for learning. The three- to six-year-old child goes about effortlessly soaking up information, forming impressions and habits, all of which become the basis for future learning and behavior," said Lea Aemisegger, Toddler and Early Childhood Program Director for the school. "Our Early Childhood Program is adapted to the unique and ephemeral learning abilities of the young child. Rich and orderly environments, multi-age classrooms, and freedom to follow one’s interests allow the child to develop fundamental skills that prepare him for life."

She added that part of the strength of the school is a very culturally diverse group of parents who love to contribute their time, talents and culture to the young children at school.

"Modern brain research tells us that individuals who take an active interest and role in their own education learn so much more, are motivated to learn and fare much better later on," Aemisegger said. "This is what Montessori has advocated and practiced for the past 100 years and it is being proven to be the model for education for this new century."

Next week, Patch is looking for the your choice on your favorite places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, don't forget to send your suggestions for that poll. The voting begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.

I have been extremely frustrated in the past in trying to effectively communicate with Frontier. MyRead More developing sense was one of very poor live support. I find it refreshing to see Frontier respond in a timely manner to this very public assertion. One can hope this is also occurring in your phone support, especially after hours...

I have spoken to Mr. Gaulke and assured him we are not cutting speeds in the Woodinville market (orRead More any of our markets). We are working with him to approach his technical issues from scratch and will do all we can to alleviate his concerns about his speeds. His business, and all the business from our customers in the Woodinville market is very valuable to us. While we are disappointed to receive feedback his service is not living up to our standards, we are grateful for the opportunity to work with Mr. Gaulke and keep his valuable business. We welcome inquiries from other customers if there is anything we can do to improve. Please reach out to me at 425.275.8579 and let us know how we can help. Frontier has spent the past three years expanding broadband to hundreds of thousands of homes acrossRead More the US and increasing speeds in many of our markets. Mr. Gaulke’s experience and recount of his conversation with one of our reps comes as a surprise to us. We are checking our records to find out what the possible miscommunication could have been. In the meantime, let us be clear: We are not decreasing speeds in Woodinvile, or any of our markets for that matter. We will be reaching out to Mr. Gaulke to see if we can alleviate any lingering concerns. Christy Reap Frontier Communications
