Grilled Peaches! Market president Michael Charlton will be offering grilled fresh peaches.

Never thought of grilling fresh summer fruits? You can taste the results this week at the .

“I did it last year and it was a big hit,” said market president Michael Charlton. “This year I’m making a raspberry sauce to go on them. Both the raspberries and the peaches are from our vendors.”

Charlton will also have a sweet/spicy sauce made from Tabasco and balsamic vinegar to drizzle on the grilled fruit. And for cheese fans, Charlton has created a gorgonzola-honey combination to top the peached with.

Youngquist Farms and Hayton Farms provide the raspberries, while Bill’s Fruit has the peaches. Also at the market this week, Chue & Chang Garden will have lettuce as well as flowers.

This is the big weekend celebration of at the Woodinville market. Gov. Chris Gregoire, the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the Washington State Farmers Market Association (WSFMA) are celebrating Farmers Market Week in Washington Aug. 7-13.

The  is open Saturdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., until fall. It’s located at 17301 133rd Ave. N.E., next to City Hall.
