What's at The Woodinville Farmers Market This WeeK? Sept. 23
The late summer heat means there are more vegetables at the market, particularly tomatoes and peppers.
With the warm weather hanging around a bit longer this year more vegetables are available later than previous years, according to Michael Charlton, president of the . Tomatoes, both beefsteak and heirloom, have been particularly tasty this year, he said.
Thanks to the late season heat, squash is still ripening, and the peppers are bursting with flavor.
“This is normally the time of year when soups and casseroles start showing up on home menu's,” Charlton said. “However, we still hear customers talking about meals on the barbeque and eating outside which is great for this time of year.”

Last week debuted its Ghost Pepper barbecue sauce. “Very interesting smoky taste and very, very, very hot. I had one of their pulled pork sandwiches with this sauce, and I think the flavors blended so well. It was awesome,” Charlton said.
Entertainment this week is expected from John and Walt playing a few cover songs, the duo played last weekend as well.
The is on 133rd Avenue NE, right beside City Hall. The farmers market is Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Fall.
