What's at Woodinville Farmers Market This Week? June 11

Frozen lemonade, hot dogs, ice cream and a couple that doesn't understand the meaning of "retirement."

Tom and Teri Hattamer worked hard for more than 30 years. Tom worked as an auto mechanic; Teri for a delivery service. Then, in 2009, the Woodinville couple retired. In 2010, they went back to work.

“We got bored,” said Teri, co-owner of TNT Treats & More, vendors at the . “We went fishing and then just thought, ‘now what do we do’.”

What they did was buy an ice cream freezer on Craigslist and began driving around Woodinville selling frozen treats to kids.

“It’s just great to see the kids faces as they run out of the house yelling, ‘stop, stop,’ with their zip bags of quarters,” Teri said.

Driving the truck was fun, but the Hattamers wanted more to do. So they bought a frozen lemonade machine, next came the hot dog cart. Now they can be found every Saturday at the market and other evens around the Puget Sound. And they have no plans for retireing again.
