What's at Woodinville Farmers Market This Week? June 25

“We were talking with our daughter and son-in-law about what we were going to do next and our son-in-law started talking about kettle corn,” Brenda said.

So the Mansfields got in touch with a man in California that hand-manufactured the kettle used in making the salty-sweet popcorn and had one shipped up to Washington.

“That was before we even knew where to sell it,” Brenda said. “Then we drove into Woodinville and saw the farmers market and asked how we could sell there. The man in charge of the market told us to show up the following week and we did.”

That was seven years ago, now in addition to selling at the Woodinville Farmers Market, Brenda and her sister, Joanne Green, sell their corn at the farmers market on Sundays.

In addition to the classic kettle corn, Brenda sells a cinnamon-flavored corn as well, which has proven be a hit with customers.

“You know the best part of selling at the market is getting to know the people,” Brenda said. “The other vendors are just some of the nicest people and some of the customers have become friends. You see them return every year and see their kids get a little taller. It’s really nice.”

The  is on 133rdAvenue NE, right beside City Hall. The farmers market is Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Fall.
