What's at Woodinville Farmers Market This Week? Oct. 1

In this first week of fall there is plenty of fresh produce at the market plus members of Woodinville's Emergency Preparedness and Safety Commission will attend.

There are only two weeks before the market ends its season, according to Michael Charlton, president of the . “Plenty of time to pick up some eggplant and throw it on the BBQ,” he added. “Slice, slather, salt and cook on the grill next to some fish or chicken.”

Corn is still available at the market and very sweet.  “We are now picking our last patch of corn,” reports Alex Esquivel of Family Pepper.

Whitney Farm should have more heirloom and cherry tomatoes, as well as cucumbers and squash, according to Charlton. Chu Gee Farm has the last of its carrots this week as well as basil and Chinese spinach. Pulled pork sandwiches from Kolander Grubbs will again be on the menu.
