Woodinville Farmers Market Report: Sweet Treats

Along with what may be the last of the seaon's asparagus, there is a new dessert vendor at the market.

 

Itty Bitty Baking Company made their first appearance this past weekend at the . 

“There are some nice big flavors in their itty bitty bites,” said market president Michael Charlton. “This is Lea Jones first venture into the farmers market arena and we think she has a product everyone will enjoy.”

When Woodinville Patch talked with Jones last Saturday, her small truffle-sized confections were getting raves from customers. This weekend she plans on having even more flavors (see photos).

Also at the market expect to see some new color in the flower vendors booths this as different varieties begin to bloom.

Sugar snap peas, English peas, and snow peas are being harvested on Friday for this weekend’s market according to Lupe Bautista owner of Bautista Farm.  More baby onions and baby garlic will also be piled up on his table.

Asparagus is nearing the end of it season but tomatoes are on the verge of ripening.  Lupe Bautista planted hundreds of roma and beefsteak plants in his huge greenhouse so he could bring these a little earlier this year. 

The  is on 133rd Ave. NE, right beside City Hall. The farmers market is Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Fall.
