Woodinville’s Willows Lodge Unafraid of Friday the 13th

Historians are undecided on when or why Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day, probably an joining of existing superstitions that the number 13 is unlucky as are Fridays (Fridays unlucky? What about TGIF?). This year the dreaded-by-some day (friggatriskaidekaphobia, Frigga is the name of the Norse goddess for whom "Friday" is named and triskaidekaphobia meaning fear of the number thirteen) occurs in January (this Friday), April and July.

Rather than fear it, is celebrating the triple days by offering special discounts and prizes to people who stay on Friday the 13th.

When guests book a reservation for Friday, Jan. 13, April 13 or July 13, 2012, they will receive 15 percent off the best available rate and the opportunity to “Spin the Wheel” for a prize upon check-in.
