A Date with Zuzu at the Historic Everett Theater

It's been one year since I started blogging about our $20 date nights. Last weekend, we celebrated by going to the first place we went that was featured on the blog.

Last weekend was supposed to be our last free date, but we had a little mix-up that turned out for the better. I forgot to tell Hubby we had one more free date to go on, and he made plans for us that weren't exactly free.

Hubby found "the deal of a lifetime" on Living Social, two tickets to see It's a Wonderful Life at the Historic Everett Theater with an appearance of one of the stars, Karolyn Grimes (She played Zuzu in the movie). Guess how much it was? Ten dollars for both of us! Who would pass that up?

Sidenote-That's why we get Living Social and Groupon deals sent to our inbox, so we don't miss this stuff. ;)

It's hard to believe this blog is now one year old! Since our first "20 dollar date" was at this place one year ago, we thought doing this would be the perfect way to celebrate.

Like last year, the theater was packed with happy people, waiting in line for popcorn, snacks and hot coffee. Lots of smiling couples and families. Like I've mentioned before, everywhere you go, a certain vibe meets you when you walk into the place. This place was buzzing with joy and hope for the future.

Before the movie began, Karolyn Grimes shared her story and fun facts about the movie. I love that she shows up every year to do that. It's a neat way to share the soul of the movie.

The only sad part?

We had to leave earlier than we planned to pick up our kids at our friends house.
